Registration is open for the IYHA Jr Fuel Summer Clinic. New for 2019, we’ll be running out of both the Carmel Ice Skadium and the Fuel Tank!
The summer clinic will last seven weeks beginning July 8 running through August 22. This year’s program will push players to their limits with Olympic Skating coach Serguei Zaitsev and puckhandling specialist Derek Edwardson. Sixty minutes per week will be dedicated to individual skills focusing on edgework, power skating, balance, hand and wrist strength, puckhanding, deception and maneuvering with the puck at high speed.
The second night each week will be run by AAA coach and Director of Player Development Brent Gwidt alongside 18U AAA Coach and Director of Player Advancement Jimmy Mullin. Coaches Gwidt and Mullin will create game situations to teach players to apply their freshly learned skills with teammates against live opponents.
The clinic will be open to 10U (2009/2010), 12U (2007/2008) and 14U (2005/2006) aged players. Please note that the 14U session will run only out of Carmel due to other summer programming. 10U and 12U will have separate sessions out of Carmel and the Fuel Tank.
Carmel sessions will be on Monday and Wednesday nights and Fuel Tank sessions will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Specific times will be posted by Friday.
This is a great opportunity for players to stay on the ice during the second half of the summer and prepare for the 2019-2020 season. Cost for the summer clinic will be $399 and cannot be prorated. Each session is limited to 28 skaters. Game night drop-ins will be available for $25 per session. Goalies are welcome to attend game nights free of charge. Register now!
