Billet program

Host a Player!

As the 2022-2023 hockey season approaches, the Jr Fuel U16 and 18 AAA teams have received more interest than ever from AAA level players across the country. The 16U AAA roster is complete and the 18U tryouts will take place in early August.

We are looking for families to host out of town players for the hockey season and be a second home for young men putting it all on the line to take their game to the next level. Families must provide a safe and positive home life. Hosting a player can be very rewarding and create lifelong bonds and friendships. Many of our billeted players in recent years have become “Big Brothers” and role models for young players in the household. We do our best to match families and players with compatible values and family backgrounds.

Families will be given expectations including providing all meals for the player, transportation if the player does not have access to a car and his own bedroom with private closet space for the entire school year. Families must be Safe Sport certified and pass Background checks through USA Hockey

Players are expected to live by reasonable house rules and will be held to the highest standard of behavior.

Host families will receive a stipend each month (amount determined by the IYHA) directly from the player’s parents for food and groceries. Host families are not responsible for travel expenses or food when a player travels for games.

This is a great opportunity to help a player reach his hockey goals and for him to serve as a role model for your young players. If you are interested please fill out the application linked below and submit it to Derek Edwardson (derek@iyha.com). The other document listed is the Billet Agreement that all players and families will sign prior to move-in.
