IYHA and the family of Matt Smith have established a scholarship program in Matt's honor to make youth hockey more accessible to participants who demonstrate a financial need. Matt was a beloved hockey coach here at IYHA who lost his life much too soon back in August of 2015, but not before he had greatly touched the lives of the youth hockey and adult hockey communities here in the greater Indianapolis area. 

The Matt Smith Memorial Hockey Scholarship is funded by contributions and through future events as planned by our scholarship committee and the Smith family. IYHA encourages all families who feel they need assistance with regular season hockey fees to apply.
